Phyllis L. Spiece is the recipient of an MA in Music from George Mason University and a BA in Music from Lynchburg College in Virginia.
A native of the Washington DC Metropolitan area, she has performed for the Washington Opera Company, and at the Kennedy Center, Lazy Susan Theatre, The Riverside Center, and Historic Maryland's Adventure Theatre. She has also been featured in the Institute of Outdoor Drama's Horn in the West, Pathway to Freedom, and The Sword of Peace, in addition to performing with the Rome Festival Opera in Italy. New York City credits include performances off-Broadway for the York Theatre Company, CAP21, American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and Marymount Manhattan.
Phyllis has been a vocal teacher at the Dance Studio of Park Slope in Brooklyn, New York, in addition to coaching students privately. Previously, she taught at the Virginia Institute of the Performing Arts, was Musical Director for The Episcopal Diocese of Virginia's Music and Drama Camp and The Snow Camp Historical Drama Society. She has also taught in Prince William County and Stafford County Schools and served as a judge for the VTA Middle School One-Act play Competition, VCDA District IX Choral Festival, and the Stafford County Choral Society Scholarship competition. Currently, she serves on the production staff as Musical Director at Astors' Beechwood Mansion in Newport, Rhode Island.
